Intensive Non-Fiction and Narrative Film Workshops

Lighting and Composition Workshop June 12-15
The workshop covers four genres of film lighting and composition - Comedy, Western, Noir and Sci-Fi.
Narrative Workshops July 16- July 27 (2 weeks M-F) and August 13 - August 24 (2 weeks M-F)
In this two week workshop, students will develop an understanding of the filmmaking process, including pre-production, production and post-production. Students will work in teams to produce a short film on location and in our Digital Arts Studio. Students will learn screenwriting, visual storytelling, lighting and composition, directing actors, location sound and editing. This class includes a two-hour open studio/lunch break. Students who complete this workshop are eligible for completion of the CityArts Narrative Film Program.
Non-Fiction Workshop July 30 - August 10
In this two-week workshop, students will explore a variety of non-fiction film formats including documentary, experimental video art and installation. Students will deeply explore the concept of "film as art" and create a short non-fiction film. This class includes a two-hour open studio/lunch break. Those who successfully complete this workshop are eligible for completion of the CityArts Film Program.
