PAL players are not commonly advertised here, and I would say that, apart from computer drives, not many people have them. However, they are very easy to acquire online. Here is the best source for multistandard and region-free players of every kind, and also very good standard coverters:

    Jorge Amaro responded to my query and reminded me of the obvious -- the well known app called AnyDVD causes the computer to read any DVD as region-free, and it can be used as a decrypter too. No exotic hacks are necessary. Just install the program. I knew this but had forgotten.
