All it takes is someone with a print, a projector, and
a video camera. May look shitty, but they circulate.
There's a bootleg I've seen of the Maysles' 'Meet
Marlon Brando' that's precisely this... plus, aren't
all those Warhol VHS bootlegs with the photocopied
covers just shot off a screen?
I remember seeing a sale listing a couple of years ago
for a bootleg VHS of Brakhage's 'Lovemaking', which is
kind of alarming, seeing as how that film hasn't been
in distribution for (I think) decades, even.
