Hello,
For reasons too boring to go into here, I edited my film on an Avid
without 16mm matchback software. I recently redigitized the finished
sequence into Final Cut without understanding that I should have made
a database in Cinema Tools first. I found out that I can do the
reverse telecine (going from 30 fps to 24) after the fact, but I
haven't figured how if I can make the new databases in Cinema Tools
from my flex files & connect the clips to the database now or not.
Apparently, I can do it manually? Please email me off-list if you
have done this before or know how to do this... I appreciate any help
here. I have never done the digital to negative thing before.
Second, I just found out that Northeast Negative is moving to a
smaller space due to lack of work - they won't be cutting negative
for a few months at least. Does anyone recommend any negative
matchers (on the east coast or otherwise) that will cut from a
digital EDL? Friendly, communicative people like the Northeast guys
would be great...
Thank you,
Brittany Gravely
