JB,
I had the same issue when I joined Frameworks as well. I started film a few
years ago and expected to walk into the open arms of Frameworks and be
embraced and showered with support. I was stunned and irritated by the endless film
versus digital debates, and it always seemed like most topics started to
lean that way eventually. But keep in mind, there are many on this list who work
purely in film (though some of them don't often post to the more theoretical
discussions), and others who only watch film on film.
I'm not sure if I've been sworn off your listerv but email me sometime and
let me know what you're working on and maybe we can share some ideas. I'm
working in 16mm black and white mostly, hand processing and editing reversal
original, for now.
And always feel free to ask film film questions on this list and you'll
usually get a broad array of helpful answers, some of which are hard to find
anywhere else.
Steven
