when i saw it
my boyfreind at the time was sittin next to me
his mother is mentaly ill (post traumatic stress)
his brother is a violent criminal
and he is on zoloft
he was profoundly effected by the film
that is primarily why i think it is great but
mainly why i think it is extraordinary
is that films are not generally made on these subjects
and he had the courage to discuss it
also
it IS about his mother
i don't see how you can say that?
he tells the story of his mothers bizaare dissent into madness
or rather the making of her as a mad person by her parents and doctor
and how he somehow did not fall into the same trap as his mother
true she didn't want to be in the film but
the footage of her singing - very fucking deeply sad
in my mind i remember that she was singing
"yes jesus loves me..." whtever the title of that song is
but i may be confusing it with julien donkey-boy or dummo
by harmony korin
(those films could fit in this catagory as well
or at least julien donkey-boy is)
it was cut in imovie so...
how is it narcissistic?
- in ur humble opinion?
ramshackle - is that a catskills word?
"ramshackle music-image mashing"
great writing
"gnashing" is a great word
