TIE - The International Experimental Cinema Exposition invites submissions for the autumnal 2006 festival. Since the festival's inception in Telluride, TIE has screened over 600 innovative historic and contemporary films and joined over 150 of the world's most influential avant-garde filmmakers. TIE has also become home for ground-breaking world premiers, from legends such as Stan Brakhage to a new generation of leading experimentalists.

If a submitted film is selected, the exhibition print must be film (8mm, Super-8, 16mm, 35mm). All lengths are considered. A nominal entry fee is required. The primary submission deadline is April 28, 2006. Festival dates are October 11-15, 2006.

Film Entry Guidelines:

1. Eligibility: Filmmakers from any country may submit films for consideration. Films from any date of completion are considered. 2. Submission Deadline: April 28, 2006 (Postmarked). The deadline is subject to change, therefore filmmakers are encouraged to submit their package as soon as possible. 3. Submission format: Preview copies should be submitted on VHS (NTSC or PAL) or DVD (NTSC or PAL, region 1 or all region). Each tape or DVD and case should be marked with the title of the entry and the name and phone number of the person submitting. Note: If an entry is selected, only a celluloid film print will be exhibiited. 4. Additional items: Other materials may also be submitted at the discretion of the filmmaker including: a. Production notes b. Photographic stills c. Descriptive materials d. Promotional materials e. Artist biography/photos f. Any other items 5. Include submission form: Complete the Submission Form in its entirety. Sign, date it, and include it with your entry. 6. Exhibition format: The fin
al screening format must be a film print in the film format that you select on the submission form. Acceptable formats include: a. 8 mm b. Super 8 c. 16 mm d. 35 mm 7. Include $35 entry fee: A fee is required for each film submitted. Entry fees may be sent in the form of a U.S. money order, cashiers check or personal check, and must be included. Submissions from outside the United States may either send a check or money order in U.S. dollars drawn from a U.S. bank or include U.S. cash. Make your money order or check payable to: "TIE". 8. Submission shipping instructions: a. Do not send via registered or certified mail. b. Do not use fiber-padded envelopes for videotapes. Their residue ruins tapes and equipment. c. All videocassettes and dvds are non-returnable due to the volume of entries. d. Do not send C.O.D. 9. Notification: Entrants will be notified if their film has been accepted and may be contacted anytime after the submission has been received. 10. If chosen for selection: Each filmmaker, who has a f

lm selected for exhibition, receives an exclusive VIP Pass, granting access to the entire festival, including all screenings, special activities, receptions, roundtables and private events. 11. Exhibition print deadline: If a submitted piece is accepted, A high quality release print must be received during a designated time frame (usually between three and four weeks before the event). A print must be provided to the festival without a screening fee. 12. Disclaimer: TIE, or any of its principles, volunteers or affiliates cannot accept nor assume responsibility for damage or loss of any materials. 13. Exhibition print shipping: If chosen for selection, exhibition prints must be sent prepaid including all duties, taxes and other fees. Prints should be sent to the specific print traffic address that is given to the filmmaker after acceptance. In the event that a filmmaker is not in attendance to retrieve their print, return shipping and handling, via ground service, will be covered by TIE or an affiliate. All o
ther shipping requests and the corresponding charges, including, yet not limited to, express, air and/or insured shipping, as well as any shipments to countries outside the U.S., and/or transshipments to other film festivals/venues must be pre-paid by the entrant or recipient and/or a FedEx shipment billing account number must be provided.
