Not sure about a multi-disc DVD player (I recall having seen one of these
years ago, but not sure if they still are in production) but I have an idea
that might work...

You could hook multiple DVD players up to one of those home theater
receivers (ONYKO is pretty a typically solid brand and fairly affordable
too) that have multiple audio/video ports (Cable, DVD, VCR, AUX...). You
may be limited to using the RCA ports instead of composite or
optical/digital ports. But then you could just use the receiver remote to
switch between sources.

Maybe that would work for your needs...hope it provides a backup plan at
least.
