Hi Andy,
you should contact Derann Film in Middlesex, England.
Thay sell Super-8 prints of features, trailers, cartoons; and they
are constantly coming out with new ones. You can buy new trailers of
Matrix and Star Wars on Super-8 sound. They seem to print onto 35mm
stock with 4 super-8 strips pre-sound striped and pre-perfed, and
split after printing, but they could confirm this for you.
I just got a print of "2001: A Space Odyssey" on 8 super-8 reels.
It's in scope, whereas my 16mm print is pan/scan. They often have
used prints of Lye's Rainbow Dance or Fischinger's Muratti on
compilations of old advertising films. There's a lot of interesting
Super-8 out there still to be discovered.
-Pip
