Since I have not yet seen it on this list, I thought I'd note the passing of Sven Nykvist a few days ago at age 83. I had the good fortune to hang out with him for a week when he came to Calarts in the early 80s. A very sweet and gentle man, and one of the few cinematographers whom could call a true artist. His images changed my life.
