Jeff,
Have you sucessfully taken the plastic loop formers off for simple manual
threading, or is one forced to autoload? Why the preference for the NT
over the later model SNT?
I've never had a problem with the SSL. I thread it in the slot, then
engage the film and form the loop (by turning the run switch to three
o'clock), and manually advance the inching knob. The top loop will grow
larger if not engaged properly. I've gotten used to eyeballing it so I can
tell the proper loop size. If I relied on the slot loading function to
work flawlessly I'd have problems.
