LUTHER PRICE
"If Huckleberry Finn could Paint like Hieronymus Bosch..."
Luther will be appearing at the New York Film Festival on Sunday and
then presenting a solo show on Monday at Anthology.
This Walking Picture Palace show will probably be in two parts with
intermission and the order of films will be improvised.
This special screening may include a sneak preview of work in progress
SILK and SINGING BISCOTTS.
Films from the URF series and the Biscotts series will be included
along with FANCY and INSIDE THE VELVET K , DEAF FOR CHICKEN LIP and
others.
Luther recently appeared at Cinematexas and will be appearing at TIE
and has work in the upcoming London Film Festival.
I am programming a selection of his work for the International Film
Festival Rotterdam 2007.
Don't miss this chance to see Luther Price in person in New York with
this "unpredictable" program at Anthology Film Archives 2nd Avenue and
2nd Street NYC.
STEPHANIE BARBER
Stephanie Barber will be in person and present 9 films:
Barber will show a selection of her meticulously crafted, odd and
imaginative films which, when screened together like this, lurch the
viewer from formalism to ridiculousness, tragedy to humor and almost
sneakily begin to make perfect sense. Nine films will be shown
including her most recent films Catalog (2005) and total power, dead
dead dead (2005) along with: they invented machines - shipfilm, -
metronome- flower, the boy, the librarian - a little present (for my
friend columbus the explorer) - letters, notes - dogs.
