Intimacy & Aesthetics: Video Artists in Conversation
CHERYL DONEGAN & TERENCE GOWER: Wednesday October 11
Donegan¹s preferred media are video and painting, and her recurrent points
of reference are film, MTV video, modern décor, and Abstract Expressionism.
She has re-invented the possibilities of video performance through
role-playing and masquerade.
Gower explores modernity in the context of cities and buildings through
video, digital photography, editions and multiples. His recent video CIUDAD
MODERNA, a composite of clips taken from the film DESPEDIDA DE CASADA
(1966), investigates Mexican Modernism and sheds light on both the
constraints and liberties with which architecture structures experience.
