Dear Frameworks
For the past decade, the Fingerlakes Environmental Film Festival has
curated work which intersects with and expands the idea of
Environmental Film. Last years festival featured work from, among
others, Jem Cohen, Norie Nuemark/ Maria Miranda and Mark Hosler. A
number of interesting curatorial/ conceptual pairings were made. This
year is the first year of our open call for works. No Entry Fee.
Upcoming deadline. Please contact me on or off list with questions.

Call for Entries for 2007
The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival at Ithaca College, Ithaca,
New York, seeks short works (under 60 minutes running time) in film and
video which interrogate, investigate and intervene into the 2007
festival programming streams: Maps and Memes, Metropoli, Panic
Attacks, Soundscaping.
The festival is particularly interested in work that expands beyond
traditional formulations and forms of what is considered
environmental film and which interrogate concepts of the environment.
Experimental, narrative, documentary, animation and hybrid works will
be considered.
The festival will run from March 26-April 2, 2007, in Ithaca New York.
A selection of works programmed for the festival from the call for
entries will be purchased for the Finger Lakes Environmental Film
Festival Series, a permanent collection of film and video that seeks to
redefine the environment. It is housed at the Ithaca College library.
The submission deadline is November 15.
Only works completed in 2005 and 2006 are eligible.
No entry fee.
Ithaca College students, faculty and staff are not eligible.
