Initiatives like this are essential opportunities to demonstrate the power of global organizing and solidarity through the Internet. Not to participate (pro or con) is a betrayal of the most revolutionary potential that has ever been within the grasp of humankind. We've got to create on the same scale as we can destroy, and any opportunity to demonstrate this possibility, no matter how apparently insignificant, should be seen as epochal. There is no such thing as "failure" in initiatives like this. Each one is a demonstration of potential power, historically unprecedented. See my brief essay on the subject, "What We Must Do," in "Fluid Screens," coming any day now from the University of Toronto. And stay tuned for my book, documentary and website "Secession from the Broadcast," the culmination of 37 years of work in the media democracy movement. Seize the moment, again and again, but be detached from the results of your efforts.

Subject: Re: [FRAMEWORKS] Call for a cultural boycott of Israel
This is not a boycott against Jewish intellectual and artists but against israeli ones, I for one can make that differentiation and will not fall into the trap of believing they are one in the same

fight racism with racism!? great tactic!!!
I don't see how there is anything racist about individuals choosing to boycott because they object to the the state policies of a specific government. The cultural boycott was a tactic used in the struggle against the apartheid regime in South Africa. Unless you can actually explain your slogan, you seem to be the one who is cheerleading, not participating in dialogue.
