Jonathan,
I'm not aware of significant documentation about the Film Group's work.
But...
The Media Burn Independent Video Archive has some of the Film Group's
work streaming online (American Revolution II, Murder of Fred Hampton).

Sara Chapman or Tom Weinberg at Media Burn may be able to answer some
of your questions.

You should contact CFA director Nancy Watrous for more information:
(address suppressed) Mike Gray and some of the other Film Group people
were in Chicago in late September for a Chicago Film Archives program
To Bear Witness: The Question of Violence, A HIstory of the Chicago
Civil Rights Movement on film. This featured some of the newly restored
Film Group work.

I also understand that Cicero March was discussed or at least
recommended for the National Film Registry. Too bad it didn't make it
this time but maybe next. It's an incredible film.
Hope this helps.
Carolyn
