I first discovered Helen's work through New Orleans filmmaker Courtney Egon
- She programmed some of Helen's films a short while back when she did a
show with Basement Films in Albuquerque.

I'll never forget having the opportunity to meet Helen a few years later in
Ann Arbor when Chris McNamara scheduled her to speak to his class at the
University of Michigan. Chris was kind enough to let me sit in on her
lecture/screening. There was a "heart and soul" about her work and her
presence that day which none of us in that classroom will soon forget.

I plan to do a small tribute to Helen Hill at my Experiments in Cinema
festival this April, 2007 in Albuquerque.

love and sympathy to Helen's friends and family.
