I find it's best to keep the film with you on the plane and take the film through security and just ask them for a hand check. Give yourself some extra time, Kodak will also send you *do not Xray* stiCkers to use when travelling. Both, on international and domestic flights, I have yet to run into problems. only ones I've seen fit one 100' roll of 16mm.
Also, I would suggest alerting the security screeners that there's an
X-ray safe bag in your luggage, so that they don't turn the radiation
up higher to see what's in it.
