Dear all,
below you find the competition rules for the third edition of the Lucca Film Festival that will take place in Tuscany from 29 september to 6 october.

The competition is divided into 4 sections: Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Experimental.


1. GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
•This Regulations have to be printed, signed and sent together with the filled out registration-form to the address specified in section 2.
•Films must not be longer than 59 minutes.
•Every film produced in 16mm, 35mm, Beta Sp, Beta Num, DV, Mini-DV, Mini DVcam will be accepted.
•For films with dialogue, we recommend to attach (digitally or in paper) an exact dialogue list in English in order to facilitate the preparation of sub-titles in Italian (if those should not already be taken care of).


2. SUBMISSION OF FILMS
The registration form has to be downloaded http://www.vistanova.it , filled out and sent to the following address:

Films have to be sent in VHS or DVD and will then undergo a process of pre-selection.
Each sent product has to be labelled specifying title, section, director and running time of the film.
The material sent to us will not be returned.


            The films have to be sent within the 30th of July 2007 together with the registration form (find it on http://www.vistanova.it).

            3. SELECTION OF FILMS
 
            The organization will communicate, via e-mail, the decisions of the selection-committee before the 30th August of 2007.

            4. PRIZES AWARDED

           •Prize Documentary

           5. JURY

           Members of the Jury are: Dominique Noguez (critic, film scholar, writer) Adolfo Arrieta (filmmaker), Donatello Fumarola (critic and programmer at “Fuori Orario” Rai 3), Gianni Quilici (critic).

            6. DIFFUSION
            The organization is committed to promote the diffusion of the selected films, especially
           - via other partner-festivals in Italy or abroad with which the Lucca Film Festival is closely collaborating:

           •Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival (Switzerland)
           •Fantosfreak Festival (Spain)
           •Parnu International Documentary Film Festival (Estonia)
           •“In the Palace” International Short Film Festival of Balchik (Bulgary)
           •International Festival of Young Filmakers of Miskolc (Hungary)
           •Transilvania International Film Festival of Bucarest (Romania)

           -via airings on nation-wide, regional and local television channels - excerpts selected will not exceed 10% of the original length and will not be in any case longer than 3 minutes.

           The promotional activity of the LuccaFilmFestival also consists in:
 
           •A close collaboration with two prominent cultural organizations: “La Mediateca di Venezia CZ95” and the “Mediateca Toscana Foundation”. Both of these institutions exercise a promotional activity by organizing screening-cycles which take place in their seats. Especially the first of these is collaborating with the “Biennale de Venezia” otherwise known as the Venice Film Festival.
           •A DVD which will be produced and distributed by the LuccaFilmFestival and which will contain a selection of films from each section.
           •Screening-Cycles which we organize throughout the year in theatres and cinemas in Italy and abroad.
