L.A. Plays Itself (1972), by Fred Halsted, is a very wonderful
experimental/porn film available on DVD from Something Weird Video. I
have not seen it in its entirety, but William Jones uses a substantial
chunk of it in his video, V.O. (2006).
It is very different, however, from Los Angeles Plays Itself (2003),
by Thom Andersen. Andersen's video-essay also uses clips from L.A.
PLays Itself, leading to more confusion. I don't know how to get a
hold of Los Angeles Plays Itself, but if I find out, I will report
back to the list.

Los Angeles (not LA)
