The Duke Center for the Study of the Public Domain recently published a
comic entitled ³Tales from the Public Domain: Bound by Law?² Itıs pretty
straightforward. The ³hero² is a documentary filmmaker who is ³Trapped in a
struggle she didnıt understand. By day a filmmaker, by night she fought for
FAIR USE!²
It not only provides details about the issue, but also some great
back-stories to documentaries that either won or lost their own battles.
Although it may not develop the areas in which you are interested DJ, I
suggest it to the list because it could be a resource for those media
instructors out there trying to explain a very complicated topic.

There is a link on this page to free digital versions of the book, but the
hard copy I was given looks like it was only $6.
