diary films - theory

Hi Frameworks,

Let me take this opportunity to suggest my own book in answer to the "diary
film" question, which was written in English but published in Germany (where
I work).

Robin Curtis. Conscientious Viscerality. The Autobiographical Stance in
German Film and Video. Berlin: Gebrueder Mann Verlag / Edition Imorde, 2006.

It deals specifically with German film and video, since it makes the
argument that the mode that one chooses to represent the self is culturally
and historically specific. It also provides 2 initial chapters that theorize
the possibility of the representation of the self both following more recent
debates in literary theory and then questioning their application in an
audio-visual context (which changes everything of course).

It is available from www.amazon.de for 25 Euros

(sorry for the ad, but it isn't likely familiar to anyone outside of
Germany)
Best,
Robin
