Hi Gene,

There is a chapter in "A Line of Sight: American Avant-Garde Film
Since 1965" by Paul Arthur called "The Redemption of the City" that
might be of interest for you regarding diary films and filmmakers. The
chapter includes a vast number of references concerning cinematic ways
of organizing urban space and society such as diary, tour, catalogue,
microcosm and essay. I could scan or photocopy it for you.
