A film that influenced many of the other filmmakers mentioned
previously.

I'm glad to see no one has mentioned one particularly awful book on
this subject, and I won't mention it's title because I'd hate for
anyone to waste any money on it.

There were many folks making non-fiction diary films at MIT in the
70s, including Ed Pincus, Ricky Leacock, Joel DeMott, Mark Rance,
Ross McElwee, Michel Negroponte, Amy Jones, Rachel Strickland, and
myself. These were a pretty distinct sub-genre, as they were all
sync sound films, many shot using one-person sync rigs.
