The (mediocre) Angenieux 12-120 needs to be in Rx mount to use on a
Bolex Rex (reflex) camera -- the C-mount version won't work well
unless you stop it down quite a bit.
As far as star filters, these things (which feel a lot like 70s tv
specials) are made by Tiffen and others -- probably can be easily
found used (not in much demand) and even if they are too big, they
can be adapted with step-down rings or even tape (or a matte box) to
fit smaller lenses.
They are usually available in 4 and 6 point versions, and often are
rotated in use.
They won't work (nor fit) behind-the-lens.
