I cut at an ad agency a bit right now.
We cut to black as the cheapest (in every sense of the word) way to avoid jarring edits. Connect any two images without a jump cut. The end.
Dipping to black (i.e. 7 frames of fade before and after) is even better but it takes a half second out of your 30...
