Ashley,

You might consider the U of Iowa, which has M.A. and M.F.A. degrees,
a long history of faculty invested in avant-garde work, and produces
graduates who can hit from both of the plate with equal dexterity.

And also U of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, in addition to the places people
have already named here. And York University, in Toronto, where Mike
Zryd teaches; there was talk that John Greyson was joining the
faculty – not sure if that went through or not.
