Re: syncing 2 16mm projectors

This kind of thing usually means replacing the projector motors with
specialist units that can take a sync pulse (from one motor to another)
- so they run locked together... another beautiful solution I have seen
is to drive 2 projectors from one motor ( I think it was done with Bell
and Howells ). One motor was removed from a projector, which was driven
by a rod attached to the main drive of the (other) master projector. On
B+H machines the inching knob is the end of the drive shaft . The 2
projectors stood facing each other , so direct connection was
relatively easy with a straight steel shaft between the 2 inching
knobs. Thinking about this - it means the 2nd projector would run
backwards, so you would need a set of gears to reverse drive direction!
Anyway - hope this gives food for thought .
