Assistant or Associate Professor, Critical Studies, Moving Image Arts

College of Santa Fe invites applications for a full-time, one year appointment to the position of assistant or associate professor in critical studies effective August 2008.

This position may be considered for renewal as a tenure-track position at the end of the first year. The position requires a strong commitment to both teaching and scholarship.

A certain flexibility of approach is highly prized since the faculty includes both working filmmakers and scholars in an arts-oriented environment; most majors are production oriented but critical studies courses are a requirement and strongly encouraged in the department.

Candidates should have teaching experience and a Ph.D. and be willing to offer courses from an introductory to advanced level. Special priority will be given to candidates with some expertise in the independent and alternative cinema, electronic culture, and issues relating to media and democracy.

The College of Santa Fe is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from individuals who contribute to the diversity of the faculty.
