yeah, right-- that's called "pretext." Instead of just being honest and
saying, "we want the money and the developer wants the deal," the NYPL has to
fabricate a reason for it by claiming that there's some kind of fault behind it,
and that they're actually doing the library a favor.
These joint private-party/government real estate deal are always sleazy.
It's never about the public. Why can't they just make the building a little
bigger, to house the WHOLE collection?
