Hi Jodie--
Margaret Tait's films (I'm thinking "Happy Bees" and Garden Pieces") are the
first come to my mind--though, they come in glorious color. They are
available from LUX in London, I do believe. A couple programs of her films
have been touring the last few years. I highly recommend taking a look.
Jason Livingston, who teaches and makes films up in Ithaca, also has a
recent 16mm color short called "July Fix" that follows bees from flower to
flower. Really beautiful and light-hearted.
If I think of any more (or any in BW--that seems so strange to me, gardens
without color? Why? Even "Grey Gardens" was in color!), I will let you know.
Best of luck,
Jason Cortlund
