For those who plan to pick up this book also schedule yourself to come to Anthology in May for our complete (a whole week!) retro of James Nares films and videos. If you know (or know of) ROME 78 then prepare to be surprised by the variety, diversity and overall integrity of his large (and largely unseen) body of work.

Subject: Book covering No Wave cinema
Apologies for the self-promotion, but I thought this might be of
interest
to this list - I've just written a book on NO WAVE that's primarily
about
the musical movement in New York in the late 1970s, but it also
includes a
chapter on No Wave cinema, featuring interviews with Amos Poe, James
Nares, Eric Mitchell, Vivienne Dick, and Beth and Scott B, as well as
stills, flyers, and other illustrations from their films.
The book is available now at Amazon and in bookstores soon. Some links
for
those curious:
