The short doc of this is included on the DVD of Sam
Green's THE RAINBOW MAN/JOHN
3:16--http://othercinemadvd.com/rainbowman.html.

It is my understanding that the work is by Green and
(the late) Sarah Jacobson, although an apparent typo
on the above-referenced webpage confuses this
somewhat.

It is also my understanding that there was (possibly
still is) some confusion about the title of this short
work; at one point Green may have either not known the
title or suggested that the work did not have a title.
In any case, OtherCinemaDVD lists the title as THE
FABULOUS STAINS: BEHIND THE MOVIE. I seem to recall
(but cannot swear) that it was screened at least once
in San Francisco (probably at Yerba Buena Center for
the Arts) as LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, LADIES AND
GENTLEMEN, THE FABULOUS STAINS or some such.

If anyone on this list even gives a hoot, we're
talking about a doc (by Jacobson and probably
Green)about a feature film about a bunch or teen
rocker girls who, like, start a rebelious punk/glam
music craze, sorta modeled on The Runaways I think.
The feature starred Diane Lane, Laura Dern and Fee
Waybill of The Tubes. It was my high-school
girlfriend's favorite movie; about 15 years ago I
taped it off cable. I think this tape is still at my
mom's house (but maybe not cuz she moved recently and
probably tossed a bunch of junk) but that I think is
too complicated for it to help you Chris. Let me know
though...
