Where would avant-garde film be without junkies and psychos?
Well, it would be without the director of "The End". What was his
name? Marilyn? Fred? Anyone? Who am I trying to think of? The speed
freak that Stan Brakhage championed. He ultimately died young in a
mental hospital didn't he? He was a junkie and a psycho wasn't he?
Or was he the one that had the relative that was both his son
and his brother? I get them all mixed up. You know, age, it is what
does it to you. If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't the director
of that story receiving an academy award for his "The Pianist" right
around the same time Brakhage lay dying? Did Marilyn say Brakhage was
perturbed that they were honoring Polanski while Brakhage lay dying?
I think that is what you said Marilyn. Oh well, if you don't remember
it is not all that important anyway. I have got other things I can do
than talk about this.
