Dear Friends,
Please join me this Thursday at the CUE Art Foundation for the opening of
Cecelia Condit's solo exhibition and the premiere of her new work Annie
Lloyd. Annie Lloyd is a daughter's complicated and poetic documentation of
the creativity and wisdom of old age. The exhibition also includes six
seminal pieces from 1981 to the present, including the infamous Beneath the
Skin and Possibly in Michigan, as well as the more recent All About a Girl --
not to be missed!
Cecelia is a pioneer of feminist video and the exhibition is curated by the
incomparable Mary Lucier. I was fortunate to work with them both during my
MFA and was honored to write the catalogue essay for the exhibition. Also
opening and on view: Jim Pirtle curated by The Art Guys. I hope to see you
there! (details below, please forward to those who love complicated
blow-your-mind experimental narrative videoart!)
Best,
Kerrie
Opening: Thursday Sept 4th from 6-8
On view: September 4 - October 14, 2008
