All,

I just wanted to send one final reminder to those of you who were
still considering sending something for consideration for the 2009
FLEXfest. The final deadline is a week away (Nov. 1), so act quickly
or wait until the next competitive festival (in 2011).

Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Roger

CALL FOR ENTRIES--PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY

FLEX, the Florida Experimental Film/Video Festival, is now accepting
submissions for its third biennial competitive festival taking place
February 17-22, 2009 in Gainesville, FL. The exclusive focus of the
festival is on experimental short media, but we encourage artists to
challenge us to rethink what “experimental” means. Work may draw on
documentary, animation, avant garde, underground, or other traditions
—-or no traditions at all. Cash and in-kind prizes will be awarded
in each of 4 categories (film/video, small/large). Previous jurors
have included Craig Baldwin, Naomi Uman, Mike Plante, and Tony
Gault. In addition, the festival has hosted numerous filmmakers
including Jim Trainor, Leighton Pierce, Deborah Stratman, Bill Brown,
Jim Finn, Robert Todd, and Scott Stark.

Entry form and guidelines available at <www.flexfest.org>. The
regular entry deadline is October 1, but we encourage early submission.

Entry Fee:

No entry fee for festival alumni or for international entries.

For US entries:
Regular--$10 (postmark by October 1)
Late--$20 (postmark by November 1)

Send entries to:

Box 12762
