I did see that today....perhaps it is some rogue agent publicizing the premiere of the recently preserved HAPAX LEGOMENA series this weekend at MoMA . The seven films in this cycle were restored througha major cooperative effort funded by the National
Film Preservation Foundation, and undertaken by MoMA, Anthology Film
Archives, the New York University Moving Image Archiving and
Preservation Program, and Bill Brand, professor in the NYU program and
project conservator. Check the MoMA site for screening details: http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/exhibitions.php?id=10344
If you can't make it this weekend don't fret. Anthology will play the entire HAPAX cycle for a full week in late March. Some special speakers and events also being planned. New prints will shortly be available for rental from the Film-Makers' Coop as well.
Best
A.
