Sadly, another facotr in this is the decline in 16mm projection. The
markets that supported large production runs of 16mm projection, such as
elementary and high schools that showed movies in class, are long gone;
they now show video. Projectors will become increasingly difficult to
maintain. Many colleges have just let 16mm die. Doubly sadly, then, it
seems likely that the Coops' rental incomes will decline. (Have they
been declining in recent years?) If the economic environemnt gets much
worse, colleges will look for budget items to cut as well.

I really want the Coops to survive, and I hope they can take actions
that will help them survive. At the very least, declining rentals
shouldn't come as a surprise.
