Regarding 16mm projectors, I think schools would do well to connect with
more film collectors. This community is highly organized, and has a solid list
of people who offer supplies, parts, and service. The traditional AV supply
and maintenance businesses are not going to offer the services they once did.

Excellent advice. Those guys are going to be celluloid's saviors-- as they
once were-- just think how many movies only exist through old 9.5 and 16mm
copies from the 20s and 30s...

Check out the 8mm and 16mm forums for more info. Very helpful people
worldwide and many of them would be thrilled to show off and use their equipment.
They tear these things apart in their sleep and know everything about film
stocks and history.
