I'm not absolutely certain, and I was only referring to the non-xenon portable machines, not the
pedestal units like the 5020.
Ask Bob at Projex in the UK. He would know. Or try asking Richard Burgess.

I am asking because this really orients my workflow and future acquisitions (DC motors are easy to speed-regulate for sync, AC's are really tough). I have a service manual for an ex-5020 which indicates an AC motor...

DC motors, except for the "Economy" models that used AC motor (no transformer, very light).

speaking of eikis... asking for another tip... does anyone have solid knowledge about the type of motors used in xenon lamp eikis (ex-300sl, ex-2000, etc.) and tungsten lamp eikis (ssl, nt, etc.) ?
are they AC or DC?? i can't make sense of the electrical layouts i have, which seem a bit unclear.
thanks!
