Adam,

What model do you have? M77? M86?

The focus lens moves back and forth inside the lens
housing by way of a lever attached to the lens, but I would
suppose you'd see this.

I'm currently out of town and unable to check my manual. If you don't find
the trouble soon, let me know and I'll look at a manual when I'm back in
town.
