Howdy folks -
Just wanted to let everyone here know that two of Gary Beydler's incredible films (Pasadena Freeway Stills and Venice Pier) are now available for rental from Canyon Cinema in new prints from the recent restorations we did at the Academy. Colorlab in Maryland did an excellent job on both of these, and they look great:

I'm predicting we'll have the rest of Gary's very modest filmography restored within a year or so, and Gary is planning to make new prints for Canyon of each one as they're finished.
Next up for restoration work will probably be Mirror and Hand Held Day (both 1974), probably by the end of this year. After that, there'll be Los Ojos (1974) and Glass Face (1975), and possibly some early Super 8 sketch pieces, if Gary feels like they should go into distribution.
Any questions, shoot 'em my way!
And personally, I would really recommend the bold among you to please take a chance on Venice Pier, even though it's one of Gary's lesser-known films. It's quite moving and I can't imagine you'll be disappointed. It really needs to get out there and be seen, so give it a shot!
Thanks for reading,
Mark T
