Of course, of course. I agree with Chuck.
Another point: We can assume that most US citizens on FrameWorks are
reasonably well informed. It's not as if none of us know that there is
currently a debate about health care. It's not as if we don't know how
to find a huge amount of information about this debate if and when we
want to. We don't need to be told about it.
If everyone on FrameWorks advocated for the cause they cared most
about, or, if even 20 people did, we would all be swamped.
Now, in my opinion, everyone on FrameWorks should support pre-1750
Western Classical music. A deep knowledge of and love of this music
will improve your own ability to see all art, and your own art, if you
make art. Buy CDs, and go to concerts, and donate to groups supporting
the music of Léonin, Pérotin, Machaut, Dunstable, John Browne,
Cornysh, Fayrfax, John Taverner, Dufay, Binchois, Busnois, Obrecht,
Isaac, Ockeghem, Josquin des Prez, Guerrero, Morales, Claudin de
Sermisy, Lasso, Victoria, Byrd, Gesualdo, Sweelinck, Schütz,
Froberger, Biber, Sainte-Colombe, Forqueray, Couperin, Buxtehude,
Bach...
