The ideas of Eli and Stephen for how to use "mash-up" seem fine to me.
My point is that it sounds especially wrong for found footage work
edited with great deliberation and according to more, for want of a
better term, "classical" ideals.
On the other hand, applying it to some films and videos influenced by
pop music, sometimes made in a manner similar to or influenced by
"dj-ing," seems better.
