Unless you absolutely NEED HDCam for some reason, skip it. It is now a
fairly outmoded technology and it lowers the resolution a significant
amount (as opposed to just compressing it). By the same token, whether
you get an HDCan dub or not, you do not want your Pro Res file made
from the tape but by direct capture of the scanner output into the
computer.
Labs that only scan to HDCam, or that cannot send the scanner output
to an appropriate HD Capture card are way behind the curve. (You can
get a used G5 w. Blackmagic card that will do full 1080P Pro Res 422
for like $1500).
