On July 28, 2010… Sapien Films’ “The Yard” will have its official premier at the
Anthology Film Archives in New York City at 9:15pm.
Shot within the confines of Holmesburg Prison in northern Philadelphia, PA, “The
Yard” (AKA “Yard Rats”) stars Brandon Ruckdashel as “McMurphy”, the head of
prison security. Also starring the “convicts” Brian M. Wixson as “Hyland”, E.
Vincent Burrows as “Arrington”, Harold B. Gibson as “Toth”, Cesar Salazar as
“Hicks”, Jamian Blackmon as “Norwood” and Bryan Donoghue as “Bartles”. I, Steve
Yank, play a supporting role as a convict named “Curry”. With Miguel A. Carmona,
Jack Kassees and Van J. Lefford as convicts as well as Craig Bazan and Michael
Belveduto, Sr. as prison guards.
Director/producer Nathan Zen-Sapien brings Kevin Caruso’s screenplay to the
screen in his own distinctive style with the assistance of cinematographer Mike
Biaselli, script supervisor Thomasina Cruz and audio/boom technician Roger G.
Stubblefield. Along with acting in the film, I also composed original music for
it.
Bonus features to be shown at the premier… Along with the film “The Yard”, the
three bonus features are: 1) "The Yard" music video: “Psychotic State” . 2)
Trailer for “The Yard”. 3) “Sapien Films Demo 2010”.
The Anthology Film Archives is located at 32 Second St. & 2nd Ave., New York,
NY. The show is scheduled to start at around 9:15pm. Admission is only $6.00 for
the entire evening.
Members of the cast (including yours truly) and crew will be there. See you
