Hi,
I get the frameworks posts in digest and so read them once a week or so, but I
wanted to add some names to an already cumbersome list of experimental
documentaries:
Holly Fisher
Chick Strand
and reiterate
Mike Hoolboom
Phil Hoffman
Lynne Sachs
There are many more whose work deals on some level with formal, structural
and/or aesthetic "experimentation" and non-fiction subject matter - Jonathan
Schwartz, Robert Todd, John Gianvito, Ben Russell, Kathryn Ramey (that's me),
Sasha Waters and so on and so on. So there is a lot to choose from. But the
folks above + others were truly influential in developing various strands of
this work among other luminaries such as Su Friedrich, Barbara Hammer, Chris
Marker and so on.
