I would suggest the sound design by BBC Radiophonics workshop, which
was way ahead of its time is worth checking out. They scored Dr Who
but also supplied sound for many other shows including documentaries.
Also Derek Jarmans home movies were screened on BBC under the title
Glitterbug.
From Australia the recent docs by Janet Merriweather ie(Jade babe)
are certainly worth watching.
