The Film & Electronic Arts Program at Bard College invites applications for a tenure-track position in media production at the rank of assistant professor, to commence in the fall of 2011. We are looking for someone who has a strong body of work and a distinguished record of accomplishment in the field. The candidate should have some combination of the following interests and skills: documentary and performance, video installation and projection, web based art or programming, in addition to some specific areas of research engaging the history and theory of the field.
Applicants should have an MFA or equivalent experience, have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to teaching undergraduates within a liberal arts context. The Film & Electronic Arts Program at Bard has a long history of contributing to the cinematic arts through educating film and video artists, writers for the screen and film scholars who have gone on to make significant work within contemporary media culture.
