Hand carrying should be fine. If you are at all concerned with excessive x-ray
exposure, you can request that everything be hand inspected. I find that it
helps if I have the receipt, act very pleasant, and print out the TSA
regulations first. You can find them here:

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/editorial_1035.shtm

Note that it specifies motion picture film as a type you should remove from your
bag for hand inspection.

Subject: [Frameworks] air travel with film stock.

I'm planning a trip to Canada and will be flying with unexposed 16mm stock, and
then flying back with exposed but unprocessed stock. Flying roundtrip LAX -
Toronto - Halifax. Looking for advice on navigating customs and TSA check points
with stock. Should I ship or hand-carry film back? Any other tips?

Thanks.
